The Ellen Susan Bromberg Skolnick Lectureship in Humanism in Medicine is an endowed award given to a physician who embodies the spirit of Ellen Susan Bromberg Skolnick – the exemplar humanitarian who taught physicians to see patients as the people they are. Ellen Susan knew first-hand the importance of not only clinical excellence, but compassion, respect, integrity and empathy between physicians and their patients. She also understood the critical need to educate the next generation of physicians and healthcare professionals. The Ellen Susan Bromberg Skolnick Lecturer will exemplify these values of human connection in their own work and will educate faculty and house staff through a grand rounds lecture at Mount Sinai.
