The COVID-19 pandemic laid bare the many health and health care inequities that are prevalent in underserved populations globally. In order to better understand these disparities and provide the solutions to solve them, Mount Sinai launched the Institute for Health Equity Research (IHER) to conduct paradigm-shifting work that engages at-risk communities, facilitates access to life-changing resources, and informs life-saving interventions.

Your funds to support IHER will empower our team of health equity researchers to identify the root causes and magnitude of inequities across all ages, abilities, and genders; devise and test innovative solutions to address these inequities; take concrete action in response to our findings; and train the next generation of diversity scholars.
