A Vision of Hope: The 200-Year History of the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary 1820-2020
In celebration of our 200-year anniversary, New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai (NYEE) published a richly illustrated coffee-table book. More of a family album; the book chronicles the remarkable history of our institution, its formative years, and growth to prominence. We are grateful to the late Joseph B. Walsh, MD, Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at NYEE, and Richard B. Rosen, MD, The Belinda Bingham Pierce & Gerald G. Pierce, MD, Distinguished Chair of Ophthalmology at NYEE, for helping to compose this commemorative album in words and photos to allow us to honor those who have helped NYEE reach this incredible milestone. As you peruse the pages, we hope you will enjoy learning more about the people and events that shaped our celebrated specialty hospital and our impact on the fields of ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and plastic surgery, nationally and internationally.
Thank you in advance for your contribution and for your ongoing support of NYEE and its 200-year mission of community service.
