Wellness Program- CGD MS Center

The Patient Wellness Program at the Corinne Goldsmith Dickinson Center for Multiple Sclerosis at Mount Sinai arose from a recognized need to provide more comprehensive, holistic care to people living with MS.  This means that not only do we look at MRIs and prescribe medications, but we view each patient as a whole person and evaluate the many different ways we can have an impact on disability and quality of life.  Participants in our wellness program have an initial visit with our nurse practitioners for an overall assessment and to set goals, and then see our dietitian (nutrition), physical therapist (exercise), and social worker (emotional health), to develop a personalized set of recommendations aimed at improving health and quality of life.

Our new exercise program includes a partnership with MS Workouts, who is willing to offer subscriptions to our patients at heavily discounted prices. Unfortunately, even this discounted price can be too high, particularly for those living on very limited funds due to the impact of multiple sclerosis on employment opportunities.  Our goal is to make this program accessible to ALL of our patients.

For the month of June, I will challenge myself to run at least 50 miles! Progress will be posted here throughout the month.  Thank you very much for your support!
