This coming November, I will be running my 8th NYC Marathon with Team IBD Kids! I am truly grateful for the opportunity to run with such an amazing group of people and for a cause that's close to my heart. I will also be running my first Chicago Marathon, 3 weeks prior to the NYC race.
I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at the age of 13. My family and I are so fortunate to have met the team at Mount Sinai IBD Pediatric Center. I remember how thoughtful Dr. Keith Benkov was in his care and how sincere he was when my family needed it most. The doctors at the Mount Sinai IBD Pediatric Center took a long-term approach to my health and I'm now able to participate in these special races.
Running the marathon is my way of saying thank you to Mount Sinai. The countless hours in training and the 2 marathons in 3 weeks are a celebration to health.
I ask that you give what you can to this life changing foundation. Crohn's disease can be debilitating, frustrating, and downright uncomfortable. Every little bit makes a difference.
Thank you!
Lexi
