Mount Sinai hospitals have always been important to me. I was born at Mt. Sinai West on 59th street (then called St. Lukes), Mt. Sinai Morningside (which also used to be called St Lukes) is just 6 blocks from my house ( I have gone there for pretty much any injury or sickness I’ve ever gotten), and lastly The Mount Sinai Hospital on the east side was just blocks from the school I attended for 9 years. The bus I took drove past it everyday on my way to and from school.
I’m saying all of this because I want you to understand just how integral these hospitals have been in my life, but more importantly in the lives of millions of New Yorkers. Right now these 3 hospitals (and the 5 other Mt. Sinai hospitals in nyc) are struggling to tackle COVID19 in one of the hardest hit cities in the country. They are fighting to beat this disease, but they can’t do it alone. That’s why I am trying to lend a hand.
They need funds to help treat, test for, and research the Coronavirus. Researchers at Mount Sinai have started using a convalescent plasma program to treat Coronavirus victims. This treatment uses antibodies from the blood of people who have survived the coronavirus. In order to enact this program to the best of their ability, Mount Sinai has set a goal to raise $70,000.
I want to raise just a fraction of in order to help the hospitals that have taken care of me my whole life. If you or your parents have the means to donate to The Mount Sinai Hospitals in New York, please click the link in my bio, no donation is too small. I completely understand that this is a financially tough time for many, so please don’t feel pressure to donate. Thank you for reading.
Stay safe!
