#FITFORTHEFRONTLINE FREE THROW CHALLENGE
Hi Everyone,
I created the #FitForTheFrontLine challenge as co-chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mount Sinai Health System to honor and pay tribute to our brave health care workers. #FitForTheFrontLine is a national fitness challenge beginning Tuesday, May 26 and culminating on Sunday, June 14 (Flag Day). The challenge encourages Americans young and old to move, exercise and get fit to increase awareness and raise critical funds to support our health care heroes.
Initially, I asked my friends and family to donate based on how many free throw shots I made out of 1,000 and I matched their donations up to $100,000. I completed that challenge on June 7 by making 840 out of 1,000 shots.
Then I upped that challenge and further dedicated my tribute to the frontline by doubled my shot attempts and doubled my commitment to frontliners at The Mount Sinai Health System just as they re-doubled their commitment to our community during the surge in COVID-19 cases over the past three months.
Today I finished my second 1000 free throw challenge bringing my total baskets made to 804/1000. Finished strong!
Thank you for your support,
Rich Friedman
